2027 GMC Yukon: What’s New, What’s Changing, and What Stays the Same
The 2027 GMC Yukon is not a redesign. It carries over the look, the engines, and the 16.8-inch touchscreen from the 2025 refresh, and the updates are about how it is equipped. Super Cruise is now standard on the Denali, a new Elevation Preferred Package reorganizes the entry trim, both Ultimate trims add standard Enhanced Trailering technology, and there is a new color and two new wheels. Whether you drive a 2026 Yukon now or you are shopping for a full-size SUV in Apple Valley and the Twin Cities south metro, this guide covers exactly what is different, plus what carries over.

What Is New on the 2027 Yukon
Super Cruise Is Now Standard on the Denali
The biggest change for 2027 is that Super Cruise, GM’s hands-free driver assistance for compatible highways, moves from an extra-cost option to standard equipment on the Denali, along with a 3-year OnStar One plan. Super Cruise now covers more than 750,000 miles of compatible roads in North America. On the Elevation it comes through the new Elevation Preferred Package, and on the AT4 it comes through the AT4 Premium Package. Super Cruise requires an active service plan after the included period, works only on compatible roads, and drivers must stay attentive.
A New Elevation Preferred Package
The Elevation Preferred Package is new for 2027 and becomes the main way to equip the entry trim. It includes the Technology Package, Super Cruise, and the power panoramic sunroof, and it adds the power-sliding center console when you choose the second-row power bucket seats. The step-up Elevation Premium Package now includes the Preferred Package, the Max Trailering Package, and 22-inch polished aluminum wheels.
Enhanced Trailering Standard on Both Ultimates
The AT4 Ultimate and Denali Ultimate now include the Enhanced Trailering and Technology Package as standard equipment. On the 2026 models it was tied to the Night Vision option, so towing families get more help out of the box on the top two Yukons.
A New Color: Coastal Dune
Coastal Dune is a warm, sandy extra-cost paint that joins the palette for 2027. It is offered only on the AT4 and AT4 Ultimate.
Two New Wheel Designs
The Denali gets new 20-inch machined and painted Deep Void Metallic wheels, and the Denali Ultimate gets new 22-inch 7-spoke ultra-bright machined wheels with After Midnight Metallic and high-gloss black inserts.
Small Upgrades Across the Lineup
Bright front and rear door sill plates are now standard on every trim. On the AT4, the second-row power bucket seats are now a standalone option, so you can add them without buying a package.
What Is Changing From the 2026 Yukon
Prices Go Up
Prices rise on every 2027 Yukon trim, but not evenly. Reported starting prices (including the $2,795 destination charge) are:
| Trim | 2027 Starting Price | Change From 2026 |
| Elevation | $72,695 | +$300 |
| AT4 | $80,395 | +$1,000 |
| Denali | $85,895 | +$2,700 |
| AT4 Ultimate | $100,995 | +$300 |
| Denali Ultimate | $107,595 | +$900 |
The Denali’s $2,700 increase arrives alongside standard Super Cruise, so if you would have added it to a 2026 Denali anyway, compare a similarly equipped 2026 before deciding. The Yukon XL starts at $75,695, up $300. Pricing shown does not include taxes, title, license, or dealer fees; ask Kunes Apple Valley Buick GMC for current numbers on a specific vehicle.
More Options Move Into Packages
Several features now come through packages rather than as standalone options. The Duramax diesel requires a package on every trim: the Elevation Preferred or Elevation Premium Package on the Elevation, the AT4 Premium or AT4 Premium Plus Package on the AT4, and the Advanced Technology or Denali Reserve Package on the Denali. On the AT4, Super Cruise is available only through the AT4 Premium Package. On four-wheel-drive Denali models, the available Air Ride Adaptive Suspension now requires the Sun and Power Step Package. If you have a specific build in mind, our team will walk through the combinations with you.
Rear Seat Media Changes
The Rear Seat Media System no longer includes the two Bluetooth headphones on any trim, so plan on supplying your own. On the AT4, it now requires the AT4 Premium Plus Package.
Midnight Pine, Two Wheels, and Several Packages Are Retired
Midnight Pine paint is discontinued, along with the 20-inch Talos Bronze Metallic wheels and the 22-inch 7-spoke wheels with bright chrome inserts. The Super Cruise and Trailering Package, the Premium Trailering Package, the AT4 Preferred Package, and the AT4 8-Passenger Premium Off-Road Package are also gone. If any of those are on your list, 2026 inventory is your last chance.
What Stays the Same
The engine lineup carries over unchanged: a 5.3L V8 with 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque, a 6.2L V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft., and a 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel with 305 horsepower and 495 lb.-ft., all paired with a 10-speed automatic. The new 5.7L and 6.6L V8s from the 2027 Sierra 1500 do not come to the Yukon this year. The 16.8-inch touchscreen with Google built-in continues, and the Yukon still tows up to 8,400 lbs. when properly equipped. The Yukon XL is still the longer option, with a 134-inch wheelbase versus 121 inches and 41.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row versus 25.5. Standard GM warranty coverage applies as usual (3 years or 36,000 miles bumper-to-bumper and 5 years or 60,000 miles on the powertrain).
What Is New on Each 2027 Yukon Trim
Yukon Elevation
The entry trim is now built around the new Elevation Preferred Package, which is the only way to add Super Cruise. The Elevation Premium Package now bundles the Max Trailering Package and 22-inch polished wheels, and the diesel requires one of those two packages.
Yukon AT4
The off-road-focused AT4 gains Coastal Dune paint, Super Cruise through the AT4 Premium Package, and second-row power bucket seats as a standalone option. A high approach angle front fascia, skid plate, red recovery hooks, and Magnetic Ride Control remain standard.
Yukon Denali
Super Cruise with a 3-year OnStar One plan is now standard, and new 20-inch Deep Void Metallic wheels debut. The Advanced Technology Package now bundles the Rear Camera Mirror, the Advanced Security Package, the Max Trailering Package, and the Enhanced Trailering Technology Package. The 6.2L V8, a 15-inch multicolor head-up display, a power-sliding center console, and Magnetic Ride Control remain standard.
Yukon AT4 Ultimate
The Enhanced Trailering and Technology Package is now standard, and Coastal Dune paint is available.
Yukon Denali Ultimate
The Enhanced Trailering and Technology Package is now standard, and new 22-inch 7-spoke ultra-bright machined wheels debut.
Features and packages vary by trim, and our team at Kunes Apple Valley Buick GMC can walk you through the full specs on any Yukon in stock.
Should You Buy a 2026 Yukon or Wait for the 2027?
Go with the 2027 if you want Super Cruise included on a Denali, standard Enhanced Trailering on an Ultimate, Coastal Dune paint on an AT4, or the new Elevation Preferred Package. A leftover 2026 can make more sense if a discount beats the price increase (especially on the Denali, if you do not need Super Cruise), if you want Midnight Pine or one of the retired packages, if you want the diesel on a lightly equipped trim, or if you want a Yukon in your driveway now. Either way, we will work through the numbers with you, with no pressure. We make it EASY!
